An undergraduate synthetic biology case competition using the McMaster PBL framework. Collaborate in teams to propose an impactful, feasible synbio solution—and present it clearly on the web.
What is iGEMulate?
iGEMulate engages the McMaster community in a mock synthetic biology competition, inspired by the international iGEM program. Students build skills in problem solving, critical thinking, and communication.
Teams address challenges across climate, agriculture, oncology, and AI-in-STEM with innovative synbio approaches. Judging is led by McMaster's award-winning iGEM team, visiting teams, industry guests, and university staff—offering constructive feedback on both science and communication.
